JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two fugitives and a woman were arrested seven hours after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team was called to a Westside home.
Ryan Bautista, 34, and Leanne Hunn, 30, were charged with resisting police and false imprisonment. Michael Forte, 34, who was wanted for armed burglary, was also arrested. Forte is charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, armed robbery, and murder by other that perpetrator during certain felonies.
JSO officers first responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving an anonymous tip.
Police said the Bautista and Hunn barricaded themselves inside a mobile home at 9700 Noroad, and police believed at least one of them was armed.
JSO said five adults were inside the home at the time. Two women were allowed to leave not long after police arrived, but a third woman was detained by Hunn and Bautista, who dragged her to a back bedroom and held her down. She was eventually allowed to leave but Hunn and Bautista refused to leave the trailer.
According to JSO, officers tried to use the loud speakers on their cruisers and a telephone to make contact with the couple.
A police report said an officer was able to reach Hunn over the phone and she said that she would come out of the trailer but that "she wanted to have sex with Bautista one last time" and then she hung up the phone. She never came out of the mobile home, and the JSO SWAT team was called out.
Residents watched the police activity.
"I pulled around here and watched about 30 police cars go in and two SWAT teams, a bomb squad, you name it," said David Arsenault. "Everything went back there."
Police said no one in the neighborhood was in any danger.
"Fortunately no evacuations were required at this particular location because it was isolated and the time of day didn't require any type of duress for the citizens in that area," Lt. Jessie York said.
Those who were in their homes could hear everything as the SWAT team made its commands.
"Constantly saying, 'It's the last warning!' So I thought, what's going to happen?" Donald Cowart said. "We kept hearing the sirens and everything. All we knew was that it was going to be a big bust because there was a lot of them."
Bautista, Hunn and Forte were finally arrested just after 4 a.m. Thursday after the SWAT team forced its way into the trailer.
