ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Police are looking for two robbers who pried open the door of the Target store on U.S. 1 early Friday morning, smashed glass cases containing iPods, iPads and other expensive electronics, and left with plastic tubs full of loot.
According to St. Augustine police, surveillance cameras at Target at 1440 South Ponce de Leon Blvd. showed two subjects prying open the exit doors at 12:56 a.m.
The subjects entered the building with large plastic totes and went straight to the electronics department where they smashed the display cases and took many items out of the display cases containing Apple products The subjects immediately left the store through a fire exit; cameras showed them leaving the parking lot in a dark sedan at 1 a.m.
Investigators say the method used to gain entry is very similar to other commercial burglaries in the northeast Florida area. Local police and Sheriff's Offices are working together to solve this case and others that may have been committed by these people.
