WOODBINE, Ga. - A traffic stop Thursday afternoon in Woodbine led to the seizure of more than 228 pounds of marijuana, according to the Camden County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies stopped a black Dodge Caravan for an improper lane change and failure to maintain a lane of travel. The van was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 and came to a stop at mile marker five, deputies said.

They said the driver, 37-year-old Ruben Arencibia (pictured, below), of Miami, appeared hesitant to roll his window down to speak with them.

When Arencibia rolled his window down, deputies said they smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

When deputies began searching the vehicle, Arencibia fled on foot but was apprehended by officers, deputies said.

Deputies said they found 11 large plastic bags of marijuana in the vehicle.

Arencibia remains in custody at the Camden County jail on charges of trafficking marijuana, obstruction of an officer, improper lane change and failure to maintain the lane.
