JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Local gamers and gamblers are about to have a new place to play. In less than a week Victory Casino Cruises will launch a new floating casino out of Mayport.

At 229 feet long, with more than 300 slot machines inside, and more than 200 employees ready for the game, the new floating casino is sure to cause a stir.

"It's so beautiful. So far what I've seen of it, it looks awesome," said visitor Suzanne Hull.

The Casino Cruise Ship

, Victory II, has slots, 17 card tables and a dance floor.

"We have a dining experience, an outdoor deck where you can enjoy the sun during the day and the stars at night, the gaming experience and the food experience," said CEO of Victory Casino Cruises, Lester Bullock.

Bullock said not only does this casino bring something unique to Jacksonville, it will also boost business in the city.

"We bring buses from South Georgia. We're looking as far away as Valdosta, Savannah. We partner up with busing companies and with hotels. We bring people in for weekend trips," said Bullock.

Attracting new business is one of the things Vicki Orren, who owns a limousine service in Fleming Island, said she had in mind.

"It's just a good inlet for us to be able to provide service to people who come out, go out three hours, fours hours, not having to worry about anything to drink," said Orren.

Capacity aboard the ship is 600 people. About 100 of them are employees.
