Woman on tubing trip bitten by shark

22-year-old taken to hospital with bite to leg

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 22-year-old woman who was swimming in the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale was bitten by a shark Sunday.

Police said the woman was in the water waiting for her friends to join her on a tubing trip when she was hit by the fin of a shark and then attacked.

After her friends pulled her back on the boat they took her to the shore at 511 Bayshore Drive before calling 911. She was then taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

Police said the woman suffered a bite to the leg. It's unclear what the extent of her injuries are.
