Publix development back on track in San Marco

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A long-awaited development that would bring a Publix grocery store to San Marco is getting closer to reality.

Development company Regency Centers is behind the project. Communications Manager Eric Davidson confirms with News4Jax the project at Atlantic and Hendricks Boulevards will be anchored by a 13,500-square-foot Publix store.

Davidson said the project will include between five and seven smaller stores and 239 residential units that would sit on top of the retail spaces.

Construction on this San Marco project will begin late this summer and finish in late 2018, according to Davidson.

Regency Centers is behind other many development projects in Jacksonville, including the new Brooklyn Station in Riverside.

A formal announcement and more details of the project area to be released Tuesday morning.
