Man begs for information in death of granddaughter, great-granddaughter

Bodies of couple, their young child found in burned home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is begging for any witnesses to come forward after his granddaughter and great-granddaughter were found dead in a house Tuesday.

Mario Peterson said he is trying to be strong for the family, but it's heartbreaking no one has been arrested.

On Saturday the family laid Ariyan Johnson, 19, Quasean Trotter, 20, and their child, Arielle, to rest at Word of Truth.

The Johnson's family said they are filled with pain.

"(It's) maddening searching for answers, hoping to find closure," Peterson said.

Arielle and her parents were found dead in a Woodland Acres home near Arlington Expressway.

During the investigation, police said they discovered Johnson and Trotter where shot. The baby may have died from smoke inhalation.

Just days before the Johnson family will bury Arielle and her mom, Peterson is begging witnesses to talk.

"My charge right now is to ask the community, 'Please come forward,'" Peterson said. "'If you see all the homicides happening, this could be your family. Please come forward and tell what you know."

Peterson and his wife Katrina issued a statement Saturday thanking members of the media and the MAD DADS organization.

We both would like to especially thank the all the news outlets and reporters who covered this tragedy to our family. We both would also like to thank the media for keeping the story alive in hopes that we may find the killer of our granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

The news agency has been a great help and comfort to our family and keeping attention focused on trying to find the “Killer” of our granddaughter and great-granddaughter and Quasean Trotter, the baby's father. We would also like to thank the special comfort and support of MAD DAD representative, AJ Jordan/

On behalf of both Families, we respectfully ask anyone with information to please contact JSO or Crime Stoppers or your local news outlet. There has been too many Homicides this week in the city of Jacksonville. My prayers go out to these families affected. Our thoughts and prays are with you. Thank you.

No arrests have been made in the case.

The funeral will be held Saturday at Word of Truth at 11 a.m.
