A 1-year-old boy died after he was run over by a vehicle in a private driveway Monday in northwestern Wisconsin, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, the boy was playing in the snow at a house in Farmington, Wisconsin, when a van that was being moved so that the driveway could be plowed backed over him.

The boy, identified by authorities as Abraham Flynn of rural Osceola, was transported to Osceola Medical Center by private vehicle and then transported by air ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he later died due to injuries suffered in the accident.

The driver of the vehicle, Arthur Elmquist, 54, of Osceola, was moving the large panel van and did not see the child enter the driveway, according to the release.

Witnesses told authorities that Abraham and his siblings were out playing in the snow at the time of the accident.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
