Police: Distracted driver hit, killed pedestrian

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - A Brunswick man faces several charges after police said he hit and killed a pedestrian while using his cellphone.

Giles Curtis Dismuke was arrested June 25.

Brunswick police said on January 30, Dismuke, 47, was making a left turn onto Ellis Street from Gloucester Street when he hit Pauline Jones.

Jones, 81, was airlifted to Memorial Medical University Center, where she died.

Dismuke is charged with homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and distracted driving.
