Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigates death on Eastside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man found dead inside a dumpster that caught fire at an Eastside warehouse in late January has been identified, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The death of Oscar Phillips, 59, has been ruled a homicide but police have not released a cause of death.

Phillips' body was discovered after firefighters put out a dumpster fire on Clark Street.

Initially, the gender and race of the body were unidentifiable.
