Police looking for man exposing himself to UNF students

Man driving red Mustang asking female students directions while masturbating

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two female students were sexually harassed on campus by a man in a car who asked them for directions while masturbating, according to an alert issued by the University of North Florida Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a female student was approached on a campus parking lot outside of the Osprey Cove by a man driving a red Ford Mustang. According to the alert, the man asked the woman for directions and she noticed him masturbating in his car.

Blue emergency alert boxes are placed throughout the campus for students. They reach out to campus police. One student said it'll be her "go to" if needed.

"I'm part of a sorority," Emily Woodbury, a UNF student, said. "The fact that I'm about to sit in a room with 300 women and to know that this could happen to one of us or another woman in the community is just very unsettling."

Woodbury said she's never known of something like this to happen on campus.

The student described the man as 20-25 years old with short cut hair with a medium to dark complexion. He was wearing a dark sweater-style jacket and dark jeans.

Shortly after 2 p.m., a second female student called campus police and reported a similar incident involving a man with a similar description.

The second incident happened on UNF Drive, close to parking lot 10.

Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call UNF campus police at 904-620-2800.
