JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Jacksonville inmate was back in police custody Monday afternoon shortly after the Sheriff's Office reported his escape from a work detail.

Matthew Lawrence Olsen, 23, was reported to have gotten free from a work crew near Baymeadows about 2 p.m. But police said he'd been found less than two hours later.

Olsen had been serving a 12-month sentence at the Montgomery Correctional Center off Lannie Road for probation violations linked to felony charges of dealing in stolen property.

Now Olsen, who was scheduled for a February release, also faces escape charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.
