Families heartbroken after puppies stolen in St. Johns County

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two cases of missing puppies, both believed to be stolen from local neighborhoods in broad daylight. They're asking the public for help. 

The puppies were stolen in neighborhoods about eight miles apart. 

The first incident was reported Tuesday, November 7 on Bronson Parkway, off International Golf Parkway. The 36-year old homeowner told deputies at the time that he let his three-month old Rottweiler out for a walk around 9:30 a.m. When the dog had not returned by 10:15 a.m., he went out looking for him. The puppy, who is named “Maui”, was not wearing a collar.

The second missing puppy was reported Saturday, November 11 from Vogel Road, just off Pacetti Road. A 33-year-old woman said that she had placed multiple dogs inside their gated dog run during the day. When the family returned that afternoon, the gate to the run was standing open and all of the dogs were loose. The family located all of the dogs except for a 15-week-old Victorian Bulldog. The missing puppy, is brown and white with a black eye patch. He weighs 35 pounds, answers to the name of “Moose” and was not wearing a collar.
