ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office made another arrest in its Operation Cruel Summer campaign.

Ryan Dustin Kersey, 22, of Hastings, turned himself in Saturday afternoon. He's is the 19th person arrested in connection with the undercover operation that targets suspects who allegedly used the internet to exploit minors for sex.

Kersey is charged with three counts each of using a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child for sex, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

Police said during the initial phase of the operation, Kersey allegedly solicited sex acts from what he believed was a juvenile female.

The operation, which occurred in late July, involved undercover detectives posing as juveniles online to arrange for unknown suspects to meet with them at an undisclosed location in the county.

While at the jail, Kersey was also served with an outstanding warrant for charges of possession of methamphetamine, oxycodone, fewer than 20 grams of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
