Students Propose Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap Ban

Austin, TX - Students at the University of Texas are ditching anti-bacterial soap on campus.

Student government representatives started the proposal, and they believe they're the first campus in the country to come out against the soap.

They decided to turn against the soap after reading a chemical found in the detergent is now being reviewed by the EPA for a host of environmental concerns.

Also, health experts worry the soap could be creating more antibiotic resistant germs.

The student vote will still have to be approved by administrators before it can become official policy.

Students add that the soap is also relatively expensive, so they say it makes better financial sense to ditch it.
