Trips, college tuition among gifts for family


(LAKANA) - The woman who put on a Chewbacca mask and made millions laugh is now reaping gifts from Kohl's and others.

Time Money estimates that Candace Payne has gotten about $420,000 in gifts since she posted a video of herself wearing a Chewbacca mask on May 19.

Kohl's, the store that sold the "Star Wars" Chewbacca mask, gave Payne $2,500 in gift cards and more "Star Wars" merchandise, including masks for her son.

The family spent Memorial Day on a free vacation at Disney World, worth about $7,500. Payne earned same amount was made through talk show visits.

To top it off, Southeastern University in central Florida has offered full-tuition college scholarships to Payne and her family, which are valued at $400,000.

The video because the most ever on Facebook Live, according to Time, with more than 150 million views, and the mask sold out at stores after the video was posted.
