SAVANNAH, Ga. - Savannah police came to the rescue Monday. But it wasn't to make any arrests.

Officers responded to Wheaton Street after receiving word that eight baby ducks were stuck in a storm drain. Two boys were already in the process of helping the ducks when police arrived.

The Savannah police department shared news of the rescue Tuesday on its Facebook page. Within just one hour, the post had received more than 1,000 reactions, more than 100 comments and more than 100 shares.

"The ducks have been taken to a wildlife preserve," the post read. "Let's give Derrick and Noah some love for stepping up yesterday and making sure these cute little ducks were safe!"
