JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Family members of a man who was shot and killed last year held a vigil at a cemetery in North Jacksonville Saturday to honor his memory.
James “Tugg” Young, 40, was shot and killed September 23rd, 2016, at a Raceway gas station in Brentwood. Police say they believe Young was targeted.
Young’s heartbroken family gathered at his grave site in the Restlawn Cemetery to lay flowers, honor his memory and mourn their loss. The family told News4Jax reporter Destiny McKeiver they want to keep Young’s memory alive.
The vigil was a small, intimate group of about ten people. The family released balloons in his memory and said a prayer.
"He's definitely missed. He was a great friend, husband, brother, uncle,” Young’s daughter Nek Young said. “He's truly missed."
Nek Young said most of all, the family wants justice. She said police have not made an arrest in her father's murder.
Anyone who has information regarding Young’s shooter is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
