A Massachusetts man took a video of a flock of turkeys circling a dead cat Thursday and the internet quickly jumped to conclusions.

National Public Radio reports more than 15 turkeys calmly walked in a circle around a dead cat in the middle of the road, prompting many Twitter users to speculate on the behavior. In his video, you can hear Twitter user @TheReal_JDavis saying, "This is the craziest thing I've ever seen."

David Scarpitti, who Boston Magazine calls "Massachusetts' foremost turkey expert," said the behavior is probably due to the birds sizing up and investigating the cat, which is a natural predator. Nevertheless, Scarpitti still calls the behavior "unusual" and "really quite amazing."
