JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Jacksonville woman who pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter in a crash with a van carrying 11 people has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Jessica Martin, 27, also received 10 years of probation on one count of DUI manslaughter and four with serious bodily injury, according to the state attorney's office.
Martin was merging onto Interstate 10 eastbound near Interstate 295 when her pickup struck the back of a van carrying 11 people about a year ago.
The crash caused the van to overturn, killing 49-year-old Moses Hughes Jr. Four children were injured.
It was Martin's second DUI case.
