PF Chang's supports breast cancer awareness

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – PF Chang's restaurants across the country showed their support for breast cancer awareness Tuesday by painting the giant warrior horses outside the restaurants pink.

The local PF Chang's at the St. Johns Town Center also joined the cause and enlisted the help of student artists from Christ's Church Academy in Mandarin.

For every sushi roll the restaurant sells in October, $1 will be donated to breast cancer awareness programs. Also, you can earn $1 for breast cancer awareness by taking a selfie with the pink horses and uploading it to social media with the hashtag #paintpfchangspink.

"It's awesome to see how all these community resources can pull together and pull off something that serves our community in such a way and not only our community but also so many women affected by breast cancer," said Madison Nichols, head of school at Christ's Church Academy.

The Jacksonville PF Changs also added horse blankets with the 26.2 with Donna logo and rose wreaths.

"We would be much happier if we were celebrating the cure of breast cancer," said Geoff Atherton, operating partner of PF Changs Jacksonville. "I wish we didn't have to have things like this."
