Deputy J. Stephenson took matters into his own hands, and made him feel like a part of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office family.

Stephenson took the stranded veteran to the gas station, used his personal funds to purchase gas to make sure the veteran got out of the cold weather and to the hospital for treatment.
