St. Johns County deputy plays ball with teens
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A St. Johns County deputy is being praised for playing basketball with a group of teenage boys in Hastings.
Deputy Chase Gorey played with the 14-year-olds on Friday.
A woman named Lori sent these photos to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and said her boys were so exited and kept saying it was awesome.
This comes weeks after a Gainesville police officer made national headlines when he played basketball with a group of kids, rather than reprimanding them for being too loud after a neighbor called police to complain.
Shaquille O'Neal heard about the story and made a surprise visit to Gainesville to play ball with the kids.
The Orlando Magic also heard about it and brought Officer Bobby White and the kids to Sunday's game.
