JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One Jacksonville sheriff’s officer made it his duty to get a student to her graduation on time after she was involved in an accident.

A woman working at the Florida State College’s commencement ceremony said Arita Worthy and her family got into a minor traffic accident on the way to her graduation.

Officer Phil Clark didn’t let the crash stand in the way of her important day-- he provided a police escort for Worthy.

Worthy, who was to receive a bachelors degree, made it just in time for the FSCJ commencement ceremony.
