Make-A-Wish surprises boy with trip to Hawaii

Conner Bennett, family will get to celebrate his 9th birthday during vacation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted a Nassau County boy's wish to go to Hawaii.

Conner Bennett, 8, suffers from an immune disorder and has always dreamed of going to the Big Island.

Family and friends gathered at Dave & Buster's in Jacksonville Friday night for the big reveal.

The surprise comes just in time for Conner's ninth birthday.

"I wanted to go deep-sea fishing and I wanted to go to the underwater aquarium," Conner said.

Conner's mom said she feels blessed her family is able to go on the trip.

"Just excited to share this time with our families and just go and have a week with no worries, and just spend it with each other," Randi Bennett said.

The Bennett Family will learn more about their trip at their "send-off" party in July, but were told they can look forward to adventures like a volcano tour, a luau and a fishing excursion.
