JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Miracle League is in its 21st season of giving children and adults with disabilities chance to play softball.
“Children from age 4 to adults have the opportunity to bat and run the bases, just like their non- disabled peers,” the league's Susan Baughman said.
There are more 90 players this season divided into 10 teams. The players are decked out in uniforms and even have a banquet at the end of each season.
“Your heart will be touched as you see these individuals not let a physical or intellectual disability stop them from living a fulfilled life,” Baughman said.

“Every child deserves a chance to play baseball," is the group's motto and the group and its volunteers work to make this Jacksonville field of dreams a reality.
“What we can do is provide them with an opportunity to experience the joy and benefits that come from playing baseball," a volunteer said.
WJXT honored the Miracle League Friday with it's Positively Jax award for November.
