Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson hosts 3rd annual Operation Elf event

Children from The Bridge Boys and Girls Club receive items at event

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville Jaguar is helping local children have a happy holiday season.

Wide Receiver Allen Robinson spent time Wednesday night with 50 children from The Bridge Boys and Girls Club.

Called Operation Elf, this is the third year Robinson hosted the event, and for these local children, it did not disappoint.

It's the most wonderful time for gear -- Jaguars gear that is. The kids from The Bridge Boys and Girls Club received autographed items, new sneakers and a new bicycle and helmet.

Robinson partnered with Academy Sports + Outdoors to host Operation Elf on Wednesday night. The program provides a festive holiday event for children-in-need who would otherwise have little or no Christmas at all.

Robinson said the event has special meaning to him.

"It's fun though, being able to see the rush of kids come in with the new bikes and the jerseys, so it's pretty exciting," Robinson said.

That excitement was echoed by all 50 kids in attendance.

Robinson has been sidelined this season since he tore his ACL in the Jaguars opener against the Texans. It hasn't stopped him from doing work off the field.
