JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Over the weekend, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was tagged in a Facebook post about a little girl in the community who lost her pet rabbit when someone trespassed on her family’s property and opened the cage.
Deputies visited the young girl’s school previously and told her that she could contact the Sheriff’s Office if she ever needed any assistance.
The girl even made a drawing of the scene and wanted to ask the deputies to look out for her lost rabbit.
Sgt. Chris Bohannon and Deputy Darren Nolan heard about the loss of the rabbit and wanted to help.
A citizen also reached out to the girl’s family and Sheriff’s Office say that she had been looking for a good home for two rabbits.
With the permission of the girl’s guardian and the assistance of the generous citizen, Bohannon and Nolan presented the very excited young girl with two new rabbits.
According to Facebook, the post said, "Thank you Sgt. Bohannon and Deputy Nolan for making this little girls day and for your service to our community."
