Just because you need to get out the house in a hurry every morning, doesn't mean you don't have time for a filling breakfast!
Our friend John Law and his daughter stopped by River City Live to show us two delicious recipes that are nutritious and take no time to make. Check it out:
Homemade Instant Oatmeal and Smoothie Ingredients:
2 Bananas cut in half and then cut into slices
1 to 2 Tbsp of Cinnamon Powder
1 to 2 Tbsp of Ground Chia Seeds
1 to 2 Tbsp of Ground Flax Seeds
1 Cup of Old Fashion Oats
4 Cups Frozen Blueberries
1 Cup Pomegranate Juice
1 Cup of Water
4 Cups of Ice
2 Cups Spinach
Add the Bananas, Cinnamon Powder, Chia Seeds and Flax Seeds to a mixing bowl and combine. Add the Oats and blueberries and combine. Add the Pomegranate Juice and water and combine. Place the bowl in the microwave for 4:30 minutes on high (the time will be adjusted depending on the size of the bowl and type of microwave you're using). Take the bowl out of the microwave and mix well then, fill a cereal bowl with the mixture. The rest you put in a blender. Add the Spinach and ice to the blender. You can add some vanilla extract if you want for more flavor. Mix the blender on high until it gets smooth and fill up your cup with a lid and straw.
