Local Teacher Makes Beautiful Wood Furniture | River City Live

Seventh grade  science teacher Chris Johnson uses epoxy resin to fill the crevices in natural wood slabs, and in the process creates breathtakingly beautiful custom tables.

Former Landon Middle School  students may recognize Chris from his years there, but now he teaches  seventh grade science virtually with Florida Virtual School.  " So that’s technically my full time job,” says Chris.

There’s a lot Chris loves about his hobby, like  searching out for the different slabs which he says is  almost like a little treasure hunt to find a  piece he think will make the perfect table.

In addition to choosing unique slabs of wood, Chris loves pouring the finishing coat and seeing the wood come to light You can find  Chris at area festivals and markets or visit him  on Facebook at custom woodwork by Chris.
