Tips and tricks to bake the perfect pie

Mixed Fillings Pie Shop joined the show to pregame for Pi Day! Classically trained in French Culinary techniques at Le Cordon Bleu, Chef Natasha gave us some tips and tricks to make your own pie at home.

1. Keep Ingredients Cold

Keep your ingredients cold...especially the dough. This will help the dough to relax.

2. Handle the Dough As Little As Possible

Over-handling can make the dough crack and tough to work with.

3. Always Cut Slits In Double-Crust Pies

This allows steam to escape, which is important especially when working with fruit.

4. Use Aluminum Foil or A Pie Crust Shield

This will prevent the crust from getting burnt
