Mental Wellness Wednesday | Taking mini risks

It’s mid January and you may be feeling Cognitive dissonance – you know what you want to do, but are struggling to do it. Researchers suggest that taking “mini risks” can kick start a change in both thinking and habits. It’s called “micro-dose bravery” – we take baby steps till we get to where we need to be.

Here are 3 “mini risks” that you can try

1. Get creative – sign up for painting or pottery class. Turn off your thinking brain and let your creative side flow.

2. Try something new. Novelty activates the dopamine system, which makes you happy, but it also makes it easier to learn.

3. Share a little more of you in conversations, with friends. Vulnerability builds trust and it can be a good starting point in making meaningful connections.
