The operation is the first of what could be three to get rid of seizures that Klauk has been suffering from

Klauk has been out of golf for the past two years

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ponte Vedra Beach's Jeff Klauk is undergoing brain surgery to remove a "spot on the brain" that has been causing the former PGA player to have massive seizures.

Today was the first of what could be three brain surgeries to alleviate the seizures that Klauk has had since a Nationwide Tour event in 2006.  Klauk said that Friday's surgery is more exploratory in nature than the one or two to follow.  Those surgeries would actually remove the brain tissue that has been causing the seizures.

Klauk made $1.24 million in 2009, his rookie season on the PGA Tour with three top-10s and a T-14 at The Players Championship.

Klauk is the second PGA player to have had brain surgery this year.  J.B. Holmes underwent a procedure in September to alleviate pressure on his brain.
