The Christians (13-1) relied on solid defense and a power running game, as they've done nearly all season, to wear down the Crusaders (13-1). A defensive stand followed by an 83-yard touchdown run by running back Jeremiah Hamlin with about four minutes left put the game out of reach, sealing a second-half rally.

UC trailed 10-6 at halftime, its only touchdown at that point coming on a sack and fumble return.

The Christians stopped the Crusaders, which had 2nd and 5 from the UC 10 yard line and down 14-10, with 4:15 left in the game.

Hamlin, who rushed for 113 yards, clinched the game on the next play following the turnover on downs.

The win marked the seventh state title for UC, which is tied for the second-most in Florida high school football behind only Bolles.

As for those Bolles Bulldogs, they will try to add their 12th state title Saturday night in Orlando against Booker T. Washington (Miami). [Preview of Bolles 4A title game]
