Gators QB Jeff Driskel out 2 weeks
Florida junior had emergency surgery Tuesday to remove his appendix
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – This was not the news Florida Gators coaches, players or fans were looking for on the verge of starting training camp for the 2013 season.
Starting quarterback Jeff Driskel had to have emergency surgery to remove his appendix at UF Health Shands Gainesville Tuesday.
"Jeff had acute appendicitis and fortunately the medical staff caught it very quickly," head coach Will Muschamp said in a statement. "His surgery went well and how long he is out will be determined by how his body responds, which could be two weeks."
Tyler Murphy and Skyler Mornhinweg will get most of the reps when they officially start fall practice Friday.
