Jaguars release RB Justin Forsett

Jaguars running backs Justin Forsett(L) and Jordan Todman walks out of Everbank Field after reporting for training camp.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars' roster overhaul continued on Tuesday as the team parted ways with running back Justin Forsett after just one season with the team.

The team signed Forsett in March of 2013 as the backup running back to Maurice Jones-Drew. But injuries caused Forsett to miss seven games and slide down the depth chart. He finished the year with six carries for 31 yards and 15 receptions for 82 yards.

Forsett missed part of training camp with a turf toe injury. He also suffered a foot injury that led to Jaguars placing him on injured reserve.

"Thank You Jacksonville for all the love & support!!" Forsett said on Twitter Tuesday morning. "It was a pleasure being able to play back in my home state!"
