JU announces 2014 football schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Shovels are in the ground! Construction on the D.B. Milne Field Stadium Enhancement is officially underway and will provide Dolphin fans a new gameday viewing experience for the 2014 season.

The schedule for the upcoming 2014 campaign was released on Monday and is highlighted by five home games starting with the Sept. 13 home opener vs San Diego.

In addition the Dolphins will welcome Ivy League power Penn on Sept. 20, to go along with the four Pioneer Football League (PFL) contests at the soon to be remodeled D.B. Milne Field.

The stadium project includes A 2,500 seat grandstand addition, state-of-the-art press box building, a new scoreboard to go along with new concessions and bathrooms. The new construction will benefit football, lacrosse and track and intramurals.

The 2014 football season gets underway on Aug. 30 with a trip to Southeastern Louisiana where Jacksonville will faceoff against the defending Southland Conference champions. The Lions finished the 2013 campaign ranked #6 in the nation going 11-3 and advancing to the second round of the FCS playoffs.  

The PFL road slate for the Dolphins consists of Butler on Sept. 27, Morehead State Oct. 11 Stetson Oct. 18 and Davidson Nov. 18.

Jacksonville has one other road non-conference game at Limestone College on Oct. 25.
