Suns battle for Southern League Championship

JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville will look for its fifth Southern League Championship in the last 14 years when they face Chattanooga in a best-of-5 series starting on Wednesday night.

The Suns eliminated Mobile in four games in the first round of the playoffs. Jacksonville has been one of the hottest teams in the Southern League over the last month of the season. They finished the regular season on a 10-game win streak to capture the second half of the south division title.

Games 1 and 2 of the championship series will be played in Chattanooga. Jose Urena (13-8, 3.33) will start for the Suns in game one on Wednesday against right-hander Andres Santiago (6-8, 4.47).

The series shifts to Jacksonville for game 3 on Friday night, and if necessary, for games 4 and 5.

Game 1 - Wednesday, September 10th Jacksonville at Chattanooga 7:15 P.M.

Game 2 - Thursday, September 11th Jacksonville at Chattanooga 7:15 P.M.

Game 3 - Friday, September 12th Chattanooga at Jacksonville 7:05 P.M.

Game 4 - Saturday, September 13th Chattanooga at Jacksonville 7:05 P.M. (If Necessary)

Game 5 - Sunday, September 14th Chattanooga at Jacksonville 7:05 P.M. (If Necessary)
