FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Miami Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby was arrested early Saturday morning at a Fort Lauderdale nightclub.
Fort Lauderdale police said Shelby caused a disturbance at Cyn, 111 SW 2nd Ave.
Security and police officers asked Shelby to leave the club, but police said he refused.
He was taken into custody on charges of resisting arrest without violence and trespassing.
Shelby is four games into his third year in the NFL.
"We are aware of the reports regarding Derrick Shelby and are in the process of gathering information," the Dolphins said Sunday in a statement.
