Patric Young signs Euroleague deal

Young signs 2-year deal with Olympiacos

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former Florida Gator center Patric Young has signed a two-year, fully-guaranteed deal with Olympiacos of the Euroleague, as first reported by OnlyGators.com. The Paxon High School alum was considering another run at the NBA and received a couple of 2015 NBA Summer League invites.

According to the report Young turned down a deal from Oympiacos, who finished second in the Euroleague last season, earlier this week. The New Orleans Pelicans signed Young as an undrafted free agent during the 2014-15 NBA season. He was released before ever playing a game with the Pelicans. Young then traveled overseas and joined Galatasaray in Turkey for the remainder of the 2014-15 season. The 6-foot-9, 240-pounder averaged 8.7 points and 6.4 rebounds for the franchise.

Young completed four stellar years with the Gators by being named the 2014 SEC Defensive Player of the Year. During that senior season he averaged 11 points and 6.2 rebounds as the Gators made their first Final Four appearance since 2007.
