Ramsey named to Thorpe Award list

FSU defensive back receives preseason accolade

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey has been named to the Jim Thorpe Award list. The Thorpe award recognizes the best defensive back in college football.

Ramsey, now a junior, was an All-American in 2014. He set single-season career-highs in tackles (79), pass break-ups, interceptions (2), and sacks (3.0) last season.

Ramsey has also been named to the Bednarik Award Watch List (College Defensive Player of the Year) and Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List (the nation's top defensive back) in 2015.

Ramsey is more than just a football player. He's also a standout in track and field. The Smyrna, Tennessee native won the ACC long jump title at both the 2015 Outdoor and Indoor Championships.
