Golson listed as FSU's No. 3 QB

Jr. Sean Maguire listed as starter heading into summer camp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If Everett Golson is going to be under center, when Florida State plays its season opener on Sept. 5 he's got a lot of work to do. FSU released its depth chart Sunday and the Notre Dame transfer was listed as the No. 3 quarterback.

Heading into summer camp, which begins in a couple of weeks, junior Sean Maguire is listed as the starter followed by redshirt freshman J.J. Cosentino. Maguire served as the backup for Jameis Winston last year and has long been the favorite to win the job. He also has the advantage of knowing the Seminoles offensive system.

The learning curve for Golson will be steep but he does have over 20-games of starting experience from his time with the Fighting Irish. McGuire's only start came last season came against Clemson when Winston was suspended. Florida State has four very winnable games to open the season. Their first real test will come on Oct. 10 against Miami. So Jimbo Fisher has plenty of time to sort out his quarterback situation.
