Greg Reid Named AFL Playmaker of the Week

Defensive back intercepted consecutive passes to key Sharks' comeback

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sharks defensive back Greg Reid has been named the Arena Football League's J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week. Reed picked off two passes in the second half of the Sharks' 76-67 come from behind win over the Philadelphia, Soul on Saturday, July 18.

Reid's first career pick-six came in the middle of crunch time. With just over nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Reid stepped in front of Philadelphia receiver Xavier Boyce, picked off the pass then raced to the end zone for a 49-yard touchdown return.
On the very next play from scrimmage, Reid snagged another interception and also returned this one to the end zone as well. A block in the back penalty wiped out the touchdown but the Sharks' offense scored just a few players later.

In addition to his two interceptions, Reid finished the game with 5.0 tackles and three pass breakups. As a rookie, Reid leads the Sharks with seven interceptions in 2015.
