Rashad Greene placed on short-term IR

Greene eligible to return to practice Nov. 3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars can't catch get a break injury wise. Wide receiver Rashad Greene will miss at least the next six weeks after being placed on the short term injured reserve list. Greene suffered a thumb injury in Sunday's win over Miami. The rookie underwent surgery this morning to repair a ligament in his right thumb. He will be eligible to return to practice in exactly six weeks (Tuesday, Nov. 3).

To fill Greene's spot the team has brought back wide receiver Bryan Walters, who was released last week. Walters had two catches for 17 yards in the Jaguars season opener against Carolina.

Wide receiver Marqise Lee made his long awaited season debut on Sunday, after dealing with a hamstring injury. With Greene out, Lee will likely see an increased role against the Patriots on Sunday.
