JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kids ages 6-15 will play in a tournament hosted by the NFL and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Young football fans are competing in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick qualifiers throughout Florida.

It's happening in Jacksonville at the Florida Blue Heath and Wellness Practice Fields next to Everbank Field on December 13th.

Competition in five age divisions for boys and girls begins 9 a.m. with the top scorer in each group crowned team champion and eligible for the National Championships, which will be held during the Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans game on January 3, 2016. 

Each kid will launch one punt, one pass and one kick with scores based on distance and accuracy (in feet).

The top four scorers in each age group from across the country will qualify as national finalists.

The program started in 1961. It's the largest grassroots sports skills competition.

Local kids participating are:

Ryan Turner, Audrey Howard, Wyatt Ayers, Travis Lan, Savannah Johnson, Alexandra Cook, Shakirra Cook, Kayla Barakat and Jake Hicks.
