Ramsey, Bosa, Jack visit Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With the NFL Draft three weeks from Thursday the Jaguars have started to bring in prospects for Pre-Draft visits. On Tuesday nine players paid a visit to EverBank Field. Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey, Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves and UCLA linebacker Myles Jack were among that group.

At pick No. 5 the conventional thinking is that the Jaguars will use that spot to add another defensive playmaker. Jaguars.com caught up with several of the prospects during their visit. When asked what he could provide if picked by the Jaguars, Ramsey responded:

“Jalen Ramsey brings the best player in this draft. The most versatile player, a guy who can come in immediately and play cornerback, safety or nickel. I can make an impact on the team and have a very successful year and career. I’m going to work hard and elevate my teammates as well.”

Several early mock drafts had Ramsey going to the Jaguars at No. 5 but more of the recent mocks have him off the board by then. Ramsey can play several different positions in the secondary and doesn’t feel like there’s anybody quite like him in the NFL.

“I don’t really model my game after anybody in the NFL,” said Ramsey. “I take certain techniques and watch certain guys. I think I’m very unique because I can do a lot of different things and play several different positions. With respective positions I watch Darrelle Revis, Patrick Peterson, Earl Thomas and Tyrann Mathieu.”

Highlights from the other visits:

-Joey Bosa got a geography lesson on his first trip to Jacksonville

-Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley felt at home with the culture of the Jaguars
