Rickie Fowler looks to defend Players

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Rickie Fowler was back at the TPC Sawgrass today to relive his incredible finish last year on his way to winning the 2015 Players.

Fowler needed just 11 strokes to complete the final four holes before beating Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner in a playoff. He will try to become the first player to ever defend his title next month at The Players.

"I'm definitely not coming back and just try and play for second." Fowler said. "I'm looking forward to it. It's one of the hardest events to win with the field they have here. It'll be a fun week.

Fowler has won three times since winning the Players last May and attributes the confidence he gained in beating the best in golf last year with helping him this year.

"The win here and what I did down the stretch definitely helped me win the three since then." Fowler said. "This is definitely the fastest start, my best start to a year I've had.

The Players runs May 9 to May 15.
