Jalen Ramsey suffers knee injury during workouts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars rookie first round pick Jalen Ramsey has suffered a small meniscus tear in his right knee. The injury occurred during phase two on-field workouts.

Ramsey is obtaining a second opinion next week. The hope is that Ramsey will be ready to go by the start of training camp in late July. Dr. Kevin Murphy is an orthopedic surgeon at Southeast Orthopedic Specialist and he feels that this injury would allow Ramsey to return close to that timeline.

"Worst case is six weeks in my mind," said Murphy. "I think four weeks is a reasonable time to recover from a simple trimming of that meniscus."

"This marks the second straight year that the Jaguars first round pick has gone down with a knee injury. 2015 first round pick Dante Fowler tore his ACL on the first day of rookie mini camp last season.
