Danica Patrick unveils signature food dish

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Now in her fifth full season of NASCAR racing, Danica Patrick has had some of her best outings at Daytona International Speedway. In 2013 she became the first woman to ever win the pole at the Daytona 500 and as she prepares for next month’s Coke Zero 400 she feels like this track is her comfort zone.

“I’ve always joined speedway racing since I came to NASCAR,” said Patrick. “I feel like they’ve been places where I’ve had opportunities [to win] and that’s what’s so exciting. With NASCAR’s structure of the chase being the way it is, that opens up the door for possibilities.”

Patrick also gave media members a special preview of a signature dish that will be available for race fans during the Coke Zero 400 Weekend: her Coke & Lime Cilantro Shrimp Wrap. The wrap is a perfect fit for Patrick’s health-conscious personal cookbook; it’s made with a garlic herb tortilla, Coke-marinated grilled and chilled white shrimp, shaved romaine hearts, cilantro and cabbage slaw and mango papaya relish.

“I love cooking it’s something I’ve done since I was young,” said Patrick. “It really started when I was 16 and when I moved to London. I was 16 and had to learn how to cook because at one point I lived by myself. It’s really kind of therapeutic for me and very enjoyable.”

In addition, Patrick and International Speedway Corporation Chief Operating Officer Joie Chitwood III announced “Danica’s Coke Zero 400 Family Pack” ticket package starting at $125 and only available by calling 1-800-PITSHOP. The package includes the following:

•       A Coke Zero 400 adult reserved stadium seat and one kids reserved stadium seat (ages 12 and under)

•       Admission to a question-and-answer session with Patrick in a Midway suite prior to the race

•       $10 in “DAYTONA Dollars” for Danica’s Coke & Lime Cilantro Shrimp Wrap & a Coca-Cola product (Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite or Aquafina)
