Allen Robinson raises money for Jacksonville kids

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On the eve of the start of minicamp, Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson held a Surf & Turf event at Epping Forest Yacht Club to benefit kids in the Jacksonville area. Robinson and several of his Jaguars teammates traded in their shoulder pads for aprons to become servers for a dinner, which raised funds for Robinson's Within Reach Foundation.

There was also a silent auction full of memorabilia signed by Jaguars players. All of the proceeds from the event help Robinson continue to provide educational opportunities and resources to low-income and inner city Jacksonville students.

"Growing up in the inner city and having the support of people I had in my life was really big for me," said Robinson. "They helped me through school, education and all of my extracurricular activities. Fortunately I had that support. A lot of kids don't. Being able to help them get ready to go back to school with new clothes and book bags, that will give them a lot of confidence. And that's half the battle."
